About Us

DP Doors & Shutters Ltd is an ISO registered company which began trading 20 years ago with 2 people. It now operates from a 15,000 sq feet factory unit employing 46 people. We supply, install and maintain a wide range of industrial doors, shutters and grilles to a variety of sectors across the whole of the UK.

Our main activities can be defined as follows, Door Repairs and Preventative Maintenance, Manufacturing and New Door Installation.

Whilst we always endeavour to offer our own staff for all on site work, we appreciate that there will often be the need to respond on an urgent basis, Over the years we have built up a portfolio of nation wide and competent labour only sub contractors who can attend to site the same day as callout.

All doors were originally sourced from a variety of manufacturers , and whilst this is still the case for some of our products, all roller shutter doors, fire shutter doors and high speed doors are manufactured in house at our factory in Sheffield.

New to our product range is the Speedfold 800 & Speedroll 1000 high speed doors.

The high speed doors are supplied with a variety of control options including a choice of colours for the frame and curtain.

Our tested and certificated fire shutter offers a protection of 1 to 4 hour depending on your requirements. We offer 2 types of fire shutters, the conventional type with the inboard chain driven motor or the tube motor fire shutter which is best suited for schools, offices and kitchen serveries.

We manufacture a range of roller shutter doors both single skin and insulated. Our Roller shutters can be finished galvanised , standard Plastisol or powder coat colour to a standard RAL or BS.

We can offer manually operated by haul chain, and self coiling ( push up pull down) or electrically by 3 or single phase motors. In all cases, our electrically operated options are direct drive eliminating the need for internal springs which add unnecessary weight to the shutter and create extra possibility of component failure.

We are a BS EN ISO 9001:2008 registered Company and are full members of CHAS and the Door & Hardware Federation (DHF).

Our customers range from high street shops, to international airports, blue chip manufacturing and food processing companies and major construction companies.

Receipt Of Enquiry

All enquiries received are treated with equal importance whether it’s a £100.00 repair or a £50,000.00 new door installation contract.

Entered In To DP System

All enquiries received are entered up into our enquiry system as part of our
ISO quality manual procedure.

Site Survey Process

All quotations are offered based upon information either received from the customer or as a result of a site survey which we will carry out free of charge any where in the UK. It is not our policy to send engineers to site to carry out work without first surveying the job.

The purpose of the survey is threefold:

  • Firstly to confirm dimensions and ensure the door will fit.
  • Secondly to assess the health & safety risks that may be present during the installation.
  • Finally to confirm the best and safest method of installing the door.

Our surveyor will complete standard documentation confirming the door details and specifications, and the information necessary to complete full risk assessment and method statement.

This information will be used to compile full manufacturing drawings in the case of roller shutter doors, and the compilation of the method statement and risk assesments.

Risk / Method Assessment

Copies of these will be issued to the client for approval prior to manufacture and /or commencing on site.

Order Received

The moment we receive an order, an order acknowledgement will be issued to the customer confirming full specification of the proposed door with an anticipated installation date given.

In order to monitor our performance we will issue a customer questionaire seeking a performance rating in all aspects of our service. Comments received help greatly in ensuring we maintain a high standard.

Q1: Confirm what the call out charges will be – is there a call out fee?

At dp we do not have a callout charge, but we do offer a minimum charge equivalent to 3 hours.

Q2: Does your contractor comply to all the Health & Safety Industry Standards as well as their engineers?

All our engineers are trained to industry standards, they have attended safety courses. All dp engineers have passport to safety cards and have been trained to operate hydraulic access platforms IPAFF and erect scaffold towers PASSMA.

Q3: Can your contractor attend the site the same day as the call out?

We endeavour to attend site the same day as the callout. With the high availability of engineers and subcontractors that we have, this is always achievable.
