Terms & Conditions of Sale

Minimum Invoice Value

Our minimum order charge is £100 on a supply only basis and £225.00 for any on site work.


All prices are in pounds sterling. Goods will be invoiced at the prices ruling on the day the order is received. Prices are subject to alteration without prior notification. Quotations for specific items are firm for a period of 6 weeks.

Currency Fluctuation

Prices may be subjected to currency fluctuation. All invoices are denominated in £ sterling. If the customer pays by cheques denominated in other currencies then the amount credited to your account will be the actual £ sterling amount DP Doors & Shutters Ltd receives after translation and any bank charges are deducted. The customer will remain liable for any shortfall.

Value Added Tax

VAT duty and other taxes are not included in the prices quoted but will be shown on invoices and charged at the rates current at the time of invoice.

Terms of Payment

Unless otherwise agreed and subject to credit terms being approved, all accounts will be due for payment in full not later than the end of the month following the month of invoice. The company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue accounts at bank base rate plus 5%.

Claims for Shortages

Claims for non delivery, shortages, damage to goods, or bad workmanship must be notified to the company within 3 days from the date of despatch or installation.

Return of Goods

Goods may be returned for credit only after having received written approval from the company. Any offer of credit will be at the discretion of the company and will be subject to condition and resaleability of the goods on arrival and inspection. Not withstanding the above, a restocking/handling charge of 30% will be made.


All delivery promises are estimates only are given in good faith. The company will not be liable in any circumstances for consequential losses suffered by others as a result of any delay deemed to be caused by the company.


Orders can be cancelled up to a maximum of 5 working days from placement without financial penalty. Any cancellation after dispatch of DP Doors & Shutters Ltd official acknowledgement of order will leave the buyer liable to meet the costs of all materials as quoted.


Orders may be amended without financial penalty up to 5 working days after date of placement. Any amendments made after dispatch of DP Doors & Shutters Ltd official acknowledgement of order will leave the buyer liable for additional costs.


DP Doors & Shutters Ltd will not be held responsible for liquidated damages or any consequential losses incurred as a result of late or delayed completion. Every effort will be made not to damage the fabric of the building and indeed brickwork when drilling holes to take fixings, DP Doors and Shutters will not be liable for costs incurred making good any such damage if it occurs.

Retention of Title

Any goods supplied either as part of an installation package or on a supply only basis will remain the property of DP Doors & Shutters Ltd until paid for in full. Should payment not be received within the agreed time period the company reserve the right to remove materials from site without prior notice.

Basis of Contract

All sales and installations are carried out subject to these terms and conditions. No retention unless separately agreed may be deducted or withheld from payments due.


All sales and works undertaken by DP Doors & Shutters Ltd are subject to the law of England and Wales and the sole jurisdiction of the English Courts.


Unless otherwise agreed the company will offer a warranty period on parts from the date of installation (subject to usage). Within that period, the company will replace any faulty components free of charge.

(Provided that the door has not been damaged, misused or in any way tampered with). The Company will not be liable for any financial or other consequences as a result of door failure after the 12 month warranty period has expired.


After the warranty period has expired regular maintenance will be due, although it is recommended that visual checks be carried out daily after installation by the user.

It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that any door installed by the company is subject to regular maintenance with records kept. The company will write to the buyer 9 months after the install date to remind them of their obligation (should the buyer be a contractor then it is their responsibility to forward the reminder onto the user / owner of the door).
